Banned Books Week!

Hey All,

For those of you who don't know, Sept 26 - Oct 3 is Banned Books Week. It is a national event held by bookstores and libraries across the nation. It is held to promote our freedom of speech and right to read.

I'm not stupid of course. I know that some books are banned because they are, in all ways, inappropriate for the young readers that they were published for. I'm all for this. What I'm not all for is the banning of perfectly good fiction or classics. Mark Twain's classic, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, and the list goes on.

Check at your local libraries and see if there are any events and get out there to support our right to read what we want to read!
